Many managers invest huge amounts of effort in their jobs, but they don't always work as efficiently as they could...
They often work reactively, don't delegate effectively and end up working long hours and engaging in lots of activity without considering the outcome of that activity. Consequently, many managers feel stressed with a poor work-life balance.
This, coupled with the constant drive to deliver more for less, means that managers need to change the way they operate - if they continue to do what they’ve always done, they will get what they always got!
Our Personal Productivity programme is intended to equip managers with the tools to help them improve their levels of personal effectiveness and productivity. Our aim is to enable managers to ‘break the cycle’ by being more focussed on what needs to be done in addition to thinking about how they get things done. The programme will enable attendees to define how to work more efficiently whilst also providing them with improvements in work-life balance
Personal Productivity is not a time management programme. In our experience, attendees rarely implement time management ‘techniques’ in practice. We do introduce a range of pragmatic tools, but our main aim is to challenge attendees’ attitudes by helping them be clear on how the learning they experience will benefit them directly in their role. We deal with the reasons ‘why not’ and encourage attendees to focus on real situations, share learning with each other and develop personal strategies for dealing with their unique issues. Our approach aims to move people from awareness (of their style), through to acceptance (that they could/should do things differently) to action (committing to doing things differently). This approach provides attendees with the willingness, capability and confidence to make changes to the way they operate.
The programme has two levels. The first level is a one-day workshop which covers the content shown below. The aim is to provide attendees with the tools to review how they operate and then plan to implement strategies to increase their levels of productivity and satisfaction.
However, as with all training, learning about it is one thing, applying it is another! Following the workshop, we also provide the option of coaching support for each attendee. A lot of the content of teh workshop is practical and powerful, but when eple go back to their daily jobs it can become difficult to implement. We work with people on a one-to-one basis to support them as they transfer the learning from the workshop into real-life, helping them define what works best for them and to plan to make changes to the way they operate. .
