Psychometric Profiling

Over the last couple of years we have been providing psychometric profiling services to several clients.

With one client we help them with recruitment of managerial candidates. The company has undergone significant growth (trebling in size over the last 18 months) in addition to changing its strategy and company culture. This led them to re-evaluate the kind of people they wanted to bring into the organisation. We administer the Saville Consulting WAVE Professional Styles questionnaire (online) to all shortlist candidates; we provide the interviewers with suggested questions for interview based on the candidate's profile; we provide personal feedback to each candidate; and we provide a summary of each candidate's profile to the interviewers.

We are currently helping another client with their sales recruitment. For this we are using the Thomas International DISC Personal Profiling system. DISC allows us to not only identify strengths and potential danger areas for each candidate, but it also allows us to consider the eventual makeup of the team by ensuring we have a balance of the four DISC types within the team. The DISC questionnaire can also be administered online, but is more cost effective than WAVE as it does not require such intensive interpretation by a trained assessor. DISC also provides several reporting options that WAVE does not.

We have also used DISC in a team development context. We recently worked with a departmental management team in a large public sector organisation. We were asked to put in place some team development workshops and we used DISC on each member of the team to help the team understand some of the dynamics within the team. It allowed them to then put an action plan in place to work to their strengths and overcome their limitations.

We also use DISC for each coaching assignment we undertake. DISC provides the individual with an enhanced awareness of how they operate allowing them to understand how their behaviour affects the results they are achieving in their relationships either at work or at home.
