Connect Dacorum is a partnership between the business, public and voluntary sectors that actively participates in creating a better quality of life for all in the Dacorum area. The aim is to encourage local businesses large or small to improve their Corporate Social Responsibility by partnering with voluntary sector organisations to offer help and support.

Realworld joined Connect Dacorum in 2008 but as a small company we were limited to what we could offer financially. We are however, able to offer support with the services we offer. When running one of our courses 'Making Successful Recruitment Decisions' we offered a free place to the Connect Dacorum team who publicised it to their charities. It was perfect timing for the MD of the local Age Concern group who was just about to start recruiting for new members of staff and so she applied and won the place.

Attending a similar course ordinarily would have been out of the question for this local group as they have a limited budget and 'corporate' training is often too expensive but she found it extremely beneficial and also managed to network and share experiences with other candidates from the private sector.

Realworld have continued to maintain their relationship with Connect Dacorum and had started looking into other ways they could help offer support. In recognition of this contribution, the company was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation by the Mayor of the Borough of Dacorum in December 2009.
