Team Development |

Most people would accept that good teams deliver more than less effective teams, but truly effective teams possess a disciplined approach to working together, it doesn’t happen by chance, they have to work at it. We’ve all experienced frustrations with being part of a team - most people have been part of a team that spends too much time arguing, discussing options not making decisions or where team members have poor interpersonal relationships etc. The result is that the team is not as productive as it could be. We can help your teams diagnose where their performance can be improved and help them put together action plans to maximise their performance. | | We can help you by designing and facilitating team development workshops which are tailored to your needs. One of our typical team development workshops would include elements of: | diagnosis of the current issues within the team. We use either the Aston Team Performance Inventory (ATPI) or our own Team Effectiveness Questionnaire to assess team development needs | | input on team development theory and the characteristics of effective teams | | self-awareness feedback on team members' personal style and behaviour. We use either Belbin Team Roles or Thomas International DISC profiling | | team and individual learning reviews and action planning | | experiential learning to maximise participation, learning and create a sense of enjoyment | | coaching where appropriate to help either individual team members implement their personal learning plans or help the team leader develop their leadership style and capability | A typical programme would achieve: | alignment - everyone works towards an agreed set of goals which do not conflict with personal goals | | clarity - who contributes what to the team, what are the key issues affecting the team and what do we need to do differently | | accountability - each team member does what they say they will and contributes as much as they can to the team | | learning - each team member learns something about themselves and their colleagues and the team regularly reviews its own performance | | action - the team is applying their learning, doing things differently and achieving results |
