The British Museum wanted to create a pool of internal coaches to provide coaching to its employees. We developed a tailored two-day coaching skills programme for them aimed at attendees who were predominantly managers. The workshop covered all the essential skills of coaching. We provided each attendee with a personality profile to highlight their strengths and potential development areas in terms of coaching behaviour. We also ran coaching supervision sessions for each attendee for several months following the workshop to allow them to talk through their experiences ad review their learning. 

We were referred to the Imperial War Museum by the British Museum. Rather than wanting to develop a pool of internal coaches, IWM were seeking to improve the coaching capability of their top 70 managers. They also wanted to develop the capability of their managers to manage performance more effectively.  

We developed a tailored version of our one-day ‘Coaching for Performance’ workshop which helps managers identify their key people issues and think through how to approach those issues. The workshop covers essential coaching skills and the technique of giving feedback using the ‘Fierce Conversations’ approach. Attendees receive 360 feedback using our ‘Coaching360’ questionnaire. They work through case studies to help them accurately diagnose the most appropriate approach and then their own real challenges to ensure they are equipped and confident to deal with those issues back in the workplace.  

The workshops were also followed up with half day facilitated coaching supervision workshops to allow attendees to share their experiences and learning.
